How do different organizations benefit from IoT?

IoT affects most, if not all people and organizations in many aspects of life. While there are plenty of examples to use, I am most familiar with how it relates to businesses.

Businesses use IoT to gather data on their customers to help provide a better all around experience for their loyal customers. From pin-pointing market trends to produce and provide products their customers need and want to supplying their customers with a reward style system through loyalty programs. One of the greatest accomplishments with IoT for businesses in my opinion would be connectivity and the ability to affectively communicate and network with their customers. If people don't know the business exists, the business can not survive. Thus, businesses can relay information to customers through advertisements and promotions through the use of advertising platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
